Today I try to install the CAE software "Ansys 11" @ gentoo .
It is easy thing to do it.
Just follow the steps.
#mount /dev/dvd /mnt/dvd
#cd /mnt/dvd
#ls
110.dvd autodyn dm geomcat4 help INSTALL.TAR README
anscust cfx ds geompara hpmpi license solver
anssh.ini common engdata geomproe icemcfd LICENSE.TXT wbcustom
ansys corewb fem geomug INSTALL lsdyna
apdl data geomacis geomunig INSTALL.LM manifest
#./INSTALL -text !the command line install
or
#./INSTALL !graph interface install
Then I install license server.And the license file is same as the ANSYS @ WINDOWS.
You just need to get your license file from the "ANSYS" directory @ WINDOWS if you haved installed "ANSYS" in WINDOWS.
#/usr/ansys_inc/v110/ansys/bin/launcher110
You just start the ansys interactive interface and just choose the modules you want.
But if you receive error message such like "can;t find the libXm.so.3" at next step.
You just need to install the library "openmotif"
#emerge openmotif
Final I can run the ANSYS class interactive interface successfully, but I still can't run the ANSYS WORKBENCH interactive interface.
I think I missing something and maybe somebody can tell me how to deal with it.
