When you install some program such as opera broswer, mozilla firefox,gdesklets,eclipse themes management and more,you will find that you can add the function to the program through the plugin and extensions.

In the gdesklets,there are two places that you can put the extensions.
If you want every user of the computer can use the extensions,you just need to put it at /usr/lib/gdesklets/Displays" .
If you expect you are the only user who can use the plugins,for example "root",you just need to place the plugins at /root/.gdesklets/Displays .
Then we will discuess the eclipse.
Eclipse is a editor program,and you can write different varieties fromat code by it.
For example ,Eclipse CDT is a cpp plugins,and you just need to place "features" at /usr/X11R6/lib/eclipse-3.1/features and "plugins" at
/usr/X11R6/lib/eclipse-3.1/plugins .
Before you implement the above action,you have to do the action "emerge eclipse-sdk" and extra plugings about CDT which you have to downland manually.

You just need to downland the extensions and extract these,and put them at /usr/X11R6/share/icons or /usr/X11R6/share/themes .
